Day 2
Today it poured most of the day. Some kids were prepared and others.... well, let's just say they are running hair dryers on their shoes. :) They were so so well behaved, polite and in great spirits anyway! Mr G and Ms C were talking about it all day. VERY impressive! We went to Mt Vernon, ate lunch and shopped, visited 3 Smithsonian museums, went out to dinner, and toured three more monuments and memorials! Whew!

Day 1
Woah! What a crazy, busy, and fun filled day! First off, I must admit, none of us slept more than a couple of hours on the plane ride over night. Needless to say we were all quite haggard and bleary eyed for a good part of the day.
We landed and went straight to a delicious breakfast that our bellies were definitely ready for. From there we headed to Gettysburg. Because it is nearly a two hour bus ride, we caught up on some much needed sleep. Gettysburg was great! The kids really enjoyed it. History just seems so much more meaningful when walking in the actual steps of those who experienced it first hand.
From there we toured the Iwo Jima Memorial and then headed to Cheescake Factory for dinner where we celebrated Brandon's birthday! And then we were off to tour the memorials and monuments on a gorgeous night in DC. We saw the White House, the Vietnam Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, The Washington Monument, and the Korean War Memorial tonight. We will see more tomorrow.
Here are some photos. Sorry they are in backward order and don't have captions yet. I can barely keep my eyes open. I will work on it tomorrow. Enjoy!
